Summary of Responsibilities
Reporting to Executive Chef, Pastry Chef is in charge of leading the pastry and bakery team of the hotel to deliver the brand promise by creating meaningful value and unique experiences for colleagues, guests and owners. The main responsibilities are in the areas of colleague experience, guest experience, brand, and in financial growth and profitability. Pastry Chef shares the leadership responsibility to attract, develop, motivate and retain highly performing colleagues, orchestrates the best efforts of the team members to create the Raffles experience collectively or individually in order to build strong emotional connection to the brand, initiates and implements pastry and bakery product innovation strategies, and manages the pastry and bakery budget.
The main Key Performance Indicators include targeted achievements in the annual colleague engagement survey, service quality audit, guest satisfaction index and the hotel’s financial performance.
The essential duties of Pastry Chef are, but not limited to:

Lead in setting priorities to use resources effectively and efficiently through daily management of products and man power
Innovate in order to exceed guest expectations
Focus on Brand
Be present during meal periods on the floor, engaging with guests, contributing to building guestography and leading by example the notion of “emotional connection”
Ensure the brand promises are delivered through daily actions/activities throughout production and service
Ensure clear and timely communication interdepartmentally to provide seamless and problem free experiences for the guest
Focus on Financial Growth & Profitability
Lead the team in the achievement of their financial goals
Actively participate in driving initiatives to generate top line revenue
Actively participate in the management of food costs, as well as all other expenses in the department

Minimum 1 or 2 years of experience in international chain hotels as Pastry Chef.
